Get To Know "Sam"
Having dealt with severe cystic acne in her pre-teen years and trying multiple topical and oral medications, including Accutane, Samantha (or, "Sam" as she prefers) knew her career path was clear - to help people with their skin, and in turn, their confidence.
Following the summer after High School graduation, Sam started at Ogle School for Hair Skin and Nails in Dallas, with their Cosmetology course. After receiving her license and experiencing the salon, she realized this was not what she was looking for, and returned the next year for her Esthetics license.
In 2009, Sam received her certification for "Advanced Medical Aesthetics," at Biomani Center in Plano, Texas with Dr. Fathi G. Fam. This gave her training and hands-on practice with medical treatments like Chemical Peels, Microdermabrasion, Dermaplaning and Laser Hair Removal. Wanting to expand her knowledge and treatment options, Sam also attended Ke Kino Massage Academy, receiving her Massage Therapy License in 2011.
During her time in Lawton, Oklahoma under the supervision of Dr. Krista Gordon at Great Expectations Medispa, Sam was able to experience the magic of Lasers, IPL and Microneedling first hand. Bringing this experience back to Texas and attending Texas Laser Institute, she received her Laser Hair Removal Technician certification and started looking for a position.
Shortly after moving back to Dallas, Texas, Sam began working with Internal Medicine Physician, Dr. Daniel Mijares at Dallas Medical Aesthetics where she was trained alongside him in Galderma injectables. Her next position in 2018 with Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Jeff Angobaldo at Renaissance Plastic Surgery, allowed her to grow even more knowledgeable in cosmetic surgery, performing a lot of procedures for post-surgical scars and helping in the OR at times.
In 2020, right before Covid shut down, Sam began working at Evolve MedSpa with Dr. Tricia Shimer, OBGYN. While there, they built and grew into a larger suite space and more technicians due to demand. This new-hire training also allowed for advancement to her Professional Laser Hair Removal Certification. After three years, Sam decided to leave to focus on the management goals she had set for herself.
With her knowledge of skincare, hands-on experience and skill set, plus being newly enrolled in Western Governor's University online courses for her Bachelor's in Business Administration and Management, Sam is set and ready to achieve amazing things in the Medical Aesthetics industry.
Her main passion outside of work is her family. Sam is happily married and has two children, once aged 9 years and one aged 6 months, with two dogs named Bruce and Buddy. She is a very passionate Christian woman, loves to cook, bake, draw and anything Harry Potter related!
